Double think is perpetuated by double speak. In the US it is institutional. We put a smiley face on something that is offensive and it becomes honorable. If we called everything what it is by description it wouldn’t be acceptable. Our War Department was changed to The Defense department. Now murder mayhem and blood shed has become defence. Innocent men women and children who have been killed indiscriminately in war have become collateral damage, as though you were talking about a garage. We make peace by making war. Change is more of the same, we just change the label. We promote education and attack the educated. Conspicuous consumption is growth, and our economy is the antithesis of economics. Our money isn’t money it is debt. Dollars are IOU’s. Liberals aren’t liberal and conservatives are not conservative. Truth is lies and lies are truth. Our morality is amoral. Orwell is rolling in his grave.
Are you saying you must never trust anyone, well yes, be mature and be able to shift the wheat from the corn.
Orwell was a brilliant man.Quite prophetic in his understanding of the world as it was becoming after WW2, ever leading into a true dystopia for many countries.

That is the art of politics and diplomacy. Telling you what you want to hear while doing what they want to do. Obfuscating the facts and making you pay for your own execution !

Double think is very much the norm in society of how the media reports stories, and how academic institutions teach people much of what they teach is dissinfo, and conditioning people are subjected from religion.
Every element of human thinking and interaction is riddled with doublethink. Our core concept of politics, religion, culture and individuality are built around it.
Pointing it out in a few specific instances is like pointing out a couple of trees in a rain forest.
I thought it was called double speak, and if you pay attention you will notice Obama does it alot. As in this will not cost and will reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars. Do you not get it?
Political Parties do it all the time .
Both parties are controlled by The Council On Foreign Relations, The IMF, The Federal Reserve Bank, and The Trilateral Commission. BUSH, McCain, Obama, Dole, Powell, Kerry, Gore SOS…BOTH PARTIES GAVE US THIS DEFICIT, Obama just speeded up the process…Alpeaux

I DO IT ALL THE TIME
Double think is a constant within government and personal lives in America. However, it begins before the time people get into those positions of rresponsibility moreso during their home family times, unfortunately!!!
